Visual artists often struggle when pricing their work in a way that provides fair compensation for their own time\, materials\, and talents and is affordable and reasonable for art lovers to buy. Stop by Mayfair Art Studios to hear local photographer and Outreach Director for the Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg\, Carrie Caldwell\, and local artist Genevieve Strickland discuss their strategies for effectively pricing their work in the Spartanburg art market. They will present some strategies and frameworks for assisting you in pricing your own work. Bring your own questions as the event will be interactive and feature the opportunity to ask questions throughout! \nAbout Carrie\nCarrie Caldwell is a local photographer\, yoga instructor and has served as the Arts and Outreach Director for the Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg since 2019. As a freelance photographer for over 20 years\, Carrie has tried it all when it comes to advertising and pricing her work. Tap into her years of experience and find out what has (and hasn’t) worked for her in an ever-changing market! \nAbout Genevieve\nGenevieve is a full-time artist\, therapist\, wife\, and mother. She seamlessly blends her background in studio art and psychology to remind us that the world is fascinating\, joyful\, and rejuvenating. \nGenevieve is a low-country native\, growing up surrounded by shorelines and marshlands. She’s since made Upstate South Carolina her permanent home\, along with her husband\, two boys\, and their three-legged dog Elsie. Fondness for the local landscapes\, as well as a great love for animals\, fill her easel. \nIn addition to painting and teaching art full-time in her home studio\, Genevieve is a licensed and practicing marriage and family therapist. She has 15+ years experience in marketing/social media for businesses.
